In the issue we have the discovery of relic-textiles dating back to the late ancient and medieval periods. The parade of heroes and heroines in the frescoes of the Manta castle attracts attention due to the fabrics depicted and the comparisons with the remaining examples of the time. Moving to China, the evolution of the art of embroidery has changed techniques and uses over the centuries. The theme of travel is the common thread that links clothes and accessories from Asia and Eastern Europe and donated to the Civic Textile Collections of Genoa. The "unusual" section includes two particular pieces: a gold-embroidered chasuble from the early 19th century and an embroidered handbag from the late 1800s with a "surprise". The notes on the textile design conducted in the Lisio Foundation concern a multiple fabric made with a digital loom, while the artist Maria Luisa Malerba presents her works that express the colors of the sea. Closing are the characters of fairy tales told in felt and fantastic little animals born from a lively imagination and a strong sensitivity for the recovery of materials.
