Seminar on double cloth

Program
- Analysis of textile samples.
- Analysis of the loom's set-ups.
- Drafting of threadings, tie-ups and treadlings.
- Designing individual projects: calculation of warp and weft
densities, reed
count, heddles per shaft, yarn quantities.
-Weaving of samples on three 4 shaft table looms, one 12 shaft
table loom, one 8 shaft pedal loom, and one 24 shaft dobby loom.
The course is led in English and/or Italian.
Cost: 250.00 euro, taxes e materials included.



Helena
Loermans
was born in the Netherlands. Since 1988, she has been living
and working in Portugal.
She produces limited run textiles for apparel, often employing
double weave techniques.
She teaches weaving in the Arts and Craft school in Coimbra and
organises workshops as a free-lance instructor.
