RECOGNITION OF EMBROIDERY STITCHES AND TECHNIQUES Teacher: Thessy Schoenholzer Nichols 16 hour course. One dimensional stitches in a continuous direction: running stitch and variants. One dimensional stitches: back-stitch and variants. Two dimensional stitches; two dimensional cross-stitches; two dimensional stitches based on chain-stitch and half chains. Combined stitches; stitches creating fabric. Stitches for embroidering sequins, beads and other material. Each participant will be given the opportunity to practice all the stitches The course is aimed at students, cataloguers and embroiderers. The various stitches will be demonstrated in practice and with diagrams. Teaching of the correct terminology and of the use of different stitches in various geographical regions.
